Spacelab Architects have been awarded planning for the development of two compact residential houses near Mare Street Hackney.
This brown field development on the site of a disused garage and sub-station will enhance the existing area and form a modern contemporary aesthetic complementing its neighbours and immediate surroundings.

The ground floor of the dwelling will be constructed in brick to continue the line and rhythm of the existing brickwork wall from the side elevation of the neighbouring building. The first floor of the development will be clad in vertical cedar cladding with movable louvered screens to the front elevation behind which sits large areas of open glazing.
