Relatively inexpensive to build, this house provides a perfect sense of harmony with nature in a functioning family home. The design dissolves traditional barriers between indoors and outdoors and features a glazed south-facing double height space to take advantage of spectacular views across the valley.

A simple, cost-effective construction uses warm, natural materials that reflect the colours and textures of the surrounding landscape. The project won an RIBA Design Award in 2003 and was featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs programme.
