We designed an imposing, nine-storey residential development on Archway Road, one of the main arteries into central London. The scheme provides 27 affordable apartments in this populous area in north London.
The building is designed up to the boundaries of the site, to maximise available space. There are three units on each floor (two one-bedroom and one two-bedroom apartment), ranging from 54sqm to 61sqm. All units feature terraces, generous circulation areas and open-plan kitchen-living rooms.
The exterior has a layered sculptural façade, bringing interest and vitality to this otherwise low-rise, brown-brick neighbourhood. The building is designed to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes Level Four, with sustainable features including a ground source heat pump.
