Spacelab recently gained planning permission for this mixed-use building to occupy a forgotten corner of Old Kent Road. The five and six-storey scheme will provide 38 apartments with retail units at ground floor to help regenerate this section of south London’s famous thoroughfare.
Residents will benefit from amenities including private balconies, a landscaped garden with children’s play area and a communal roof terrace offering views across the London skyline.
The proposed elevations are designed to reflect not only the surrounding vernacular but to create a contemporary, striking new development in this very mixed-use urban context. The façade incorporates timber louvre cladding and glazed winter balconies.
